Looking for happiness in all its forms

When I'm not rescuing puppies and saving children from cancer, I'm advising heads of state on how to build peace and justice in the world. I'm also a dashing man of mystery traveling the world to prepare for the zombie apocalypse. Oh, it's happening. I try not to brag, but I'm super intelligent, have a heart as big as the world, a body that is made for museums, and oh my humility. I am really proud of my humility. But take it from some of my friends:

"He has a mind as expansive as any I have known. And that body!" Stephen Hawking

"Doves follow him wherever he goes. He is my inspiration." The Dalai Lama

"I'd hate him for his stunning body and his riveting personality, but no one can be that perfect. He's my idol." Ryan Gosling

Ok, seriously, I guess what I am searching for boils down to one thing, love, but in all of its forms: laughing with friends, playing with my kids, building just and kind communities, companionship with someone special, and much more. I would like to enjoy the company of someone who is engaged with the world and brings energy and compassion to all of her life. I will bring all that I am.

How would I describe myself? I am from the South but have lived all over the country and traveled a bit around the world, and sometimes think of myself as more of a Californian or New Englander than Southerner. I am well educated but I appreciate the intelligence of all people. I love being active and take care of my body to remain healthy, and I appreciate others who do the same. I am a former competitive athlete and have the body of a basketball player or middle distance runner, one that is often mistaken for someone 10 years younger. I am somewhat spiritual, more Buddhist than anything, but am open to all religions as long as they are tolerant and try to be a force of good in the world. I'm a progressive politically, but love civil dialogue with anyone about social issues. I have a career I enjoy in higher education, but I try to have a balanced life with family and friends.

But the center of my life are my two sweet girls. I don't need a mom for them since they have one, but if you're not ready for them in my life, you're probably not ready for me.
